Robert J. Lang is a PhD physicist and one of the world’s most renowned origami artists. In this composition, he has folded one of the most complicated origami cranes ever made from a single, uncut paper square. There were no scissors or glue involved. Lang spent years developing the talent, skill, and experience to create something as complicated and intricate as this modern crane design. It took years of practice for Kevin Box to develop the techniques he uses to transform a paper model into metal through a very complicated, thirty-five step, twelve-week process known as lost wax casting. Like two musicians combining their talent, the artists collaborated to make this work of art.
